We started Empower MD with a simple goal in mind: to restore the relationship between patient and primary care physician. Relationships are at the heart of why we love primary care. However, we have heard from many patients over the years that this relationship was becoming harder to create and maintain as the landscape of primary care changed. Fifteen minute office visits and insurance-driven models made it difficult to provide quality care, address patient concerns, provide health education, and really get to know each other. We hear you. We developed Empower MD to increase office visit time with the physician, curate a more personalized approach to diagnosis and treatment, and increase patient access across in-person visits, telemedicine, and messaging. True to our name, our focus will always be on empowering patients to take ownership of their health. We believe that the physician should be a trusted resource to guide and educate you along the way, not to tell you what to do until you are seen again in 3-6 months. Just as important, at Empower MD, we work for the patient and only the patient. No insurance middleman means that your physician doesn’t answer to a third party when developing and recommending a plan of care with you. We believe that patient care is collaborative, and we aim to develop a plan with you that is tailored to your preferences.
